Green Coneflower, Cutleaf Coneflower (Rudbeckia laciniata)

It’s hot and humid around here thanks to the remnants of Hurricane Laura moving past us to the north. And, since I broke my ankle in July and am recently out of the BOOT but still with a tender ankle, I admit to being just a little wimpy. For these reasons I brought some flowers from the haha to draw in the cool of my little studio. This one is called Green Coneflower, or sometimes Cut-Leaf Coneflower due to its beautiful lobed lower leaves. It’s a native plant, and a favorite of all kinds of pollinators - butterflies, skippers, bees, flies, etc. It came as a starter from a friend and quickly became one of my favorite pollinator plants.

This is a work in progress.  Check back for more.
